Please read this at your own discretion. ======== ========= Commonly called as "Ganga Jamuni Teerth Parshvanath" (蛊踪天竺普菩提) or "Baisagrat" (白根山), this holy place is surrounded by a large number of natural and man-made water bodies that provide a habitat to a variety of flora and fauna, which consist of medicinal herbs and flora. It is commonly known as the 'Teerth Pada' because it provides solace out of all the sorrows, griefs and pains. The sacred place is equally famed for its uniqueness and the beauty of its magnanimous hills, diverse flora and forest. There are more than 15 temples located in this vicinity, several of which are dedicated to Lord Shiva. This holy village is located in the eastern part of Almora district. It is situated at 23° 47' 30N 76° 7' 47E at an altitude of 2550 meters above sea level. These places are scattered over a wide area in the west-south of Almora district in Uttarakhand state, India. The sacred shrine of Parshvanath is situated in Pithoragarh district at a distance of around 20 km from it. At a time when there were no means of transport available, these places were easily accessible from Almora district by foot or on horses.The Pashupatinath Temple complex consists of 108 temples dedicated to Shiva and Parvati in different forms and aspects . The main temples of Pashupatinath are : Bagada Temple This temple is located at the foot of the nearby hill. A small forest surrounds this temple on three sides. This temple has a long history and it was established during the 8th century A.D. It is located at the foot of Gillani hill which is about 10 km from Almora town on the western slope of Himalayan Mountains.
